We are excited to release people-centred research solutions, for the mining industry uptake/use, through the Successful Application of Technologies Centred Around People (SATCAP) programme. The programme aims to understand the effects, impacts and challenges relating to people in the mining modernisation process as can be understood from all stakeholders perspectives. This entails gaining an understanding of how mining stakeholders are affected and impacted by mining modernisation systems, processes, and technologies of the fourth industrial revolution (4IR) with an intensive focus on skills needs, job impacts, and stakeholder inclusion. SATCAP further lends support to mines around the ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) agenda. Hence research solutions for 2022 have considered critical (ESG) ‘social-related’ aspects. Guidelines are availed to support industry identified ‘social’ needs.

About this Research Programme
How will we enable this?
A web-based application has been developed for all mining responders to connect to the following Digital Applications (Surveys/Assessments): These are:
Training Needs Assessment Survey Tool
Digital Leadership Competency Assessment Tool
SMME
Engagement Tool
Community Needs
Assessment Survey Tool
Note: This is not a downloadable application, connectivity will be required to access the specific Survey/Assessment via the provided link.
Training Needs Survey Application
The Training Needs Assessment Survey Tool is used to understand the current skills profiles of communities and Small-Medium-Micro Enterprises (SMMEs) to influence decision-making on how to upskill, re-skill and/or cross-skill both communities and SMMEs.

Administrator/Super Administrator Functionality
The Administrator/Super Administrator for the mines is responsible for enabling the functionality of the tool for their mine. This functionality includes managing and adding users, downloading report outputs, creating new resources, and creating new survey links. The below video provides a view of the Administrator Portal and these functions.
