Mechanised Mining Systems is aimed at providing sustainable mechanised drill, blast and mechanical rock breaking solutions in advancement to facilitate achieving zero harm, whilst maintaining and defending desired production rates at minimised costs, within the Au, and PGM mining industries. It further explores the development of innovative technology readiness level by means of validation and certification.
The MMS programme seeks to address the challenge of achieving zero harm, achieving consistent production rates and optimising operational costs in underground mechanised mines. This includes:
In cases where original equipment manufacturers are unable to provide a commercial solution, the design and production of such equipment will be conducted locally; To assist in the development and implementation of the Technology Assessment and Readiness Atlas; To pursue any prototypes developed in the programme and highlighted as feasible with a partner within the Mining Equipment Manufacturers of South Africa
Mechanised Mining Systems (MMS) is aimed at providing sustainable mechanised drill, blast and mechanical rock breaking solutions in advancement to facilitate achieving zero harm, whilst maintaining and defending desired production rates at minimised costs, within the Au, and PGM mining industries.
